Norman L. Cooling, Brigadier General, USMC (Ret.), is a seasoned leader with more than 30 years of service in the United States Marine Corps and a lifetime commitment to public and community service. Norman resides in High Point, North Carolina, with his wife of more than 30 years, Beth. A man of faith, he serves Wesley Memorial Methodist Church in several capacities, including as co-chair of the Church’s Strategic Planning Group, co-chair of the Security Analysis Team, Sunday School teacher, and usher. He is also a proud advocate for community service and education.
During his distinguished military career, Norman commanded forces in Afghanistan Iraq, and managed complex global operations for over 225,000 personnel, and led crisis response efforts like the 2016 Turkey coup attempt.
He spearheaded initiatives such as the first post-Cold War Theater Campaign Order for U.S. European Command, redefining multinational security collaboration and counter-terrorism strategies
He routinely lectures in regional universities about organizational leadership and the need for national security education.
